Who we are
Steelwood began in the fall of 2006, by co-owners Matt Spiva and Bill Monroe, with the goal of helping non-profits, educational clients, families and corporations maximize the value of their properties to help secure their financial futures. Our knowledge of the development process and our background in Architecture and Land Planning allows us to provide unique, seamless, turn key solutions for our clients by offering services above and beyond that of a traditional real estate consulting and brokerage firm.
The idea for Steelwood came about after 11 years of working together at WGM Design, Inc., a Charlotte, NC based architectural firm that specializes in master planning, building design, interior and graphic design. There Matt and Bill saw a persistent need from their master plan clients, that being, once the master plan was completed where do they turn for implementation of the plan.
Through these client inquiries Matt and Bill saw a need that they could fulfill. Today Steelwood and WGM Design, Inc. operate as affiliate companies and consult on projects on a daily basis. This relationship allows Steelwood to not only offer real estate consulting and brokerage services but to be able to package master planning, graphic design and building design into integrated solutions for our clients.
